English Premier League table 2023/24: Updated EPL standings as Bournemouth stun Luton Town with comeback – Sporting News

Bournemouth and Luton Town played out a seven-goal thriller in their Premier League match on March 13.
The game, which was postponed in December after Luton’s Tom Lockyer collapsed on the pitch, saw the visitors take a 3-0 lead on England’s south coast only to lose an engrossing contest 4-3, leaving them mired in relegation worry.
Last weekend, Liverpool and Manchester City played out an absorbing 1-1 draw at Anfield to leave the Premier League title race on a knife edge.
John Stones gave the champions a deserved first-half lead but Alexis Mac Allister’s penalty early in the second period led to a period of Liverpool dominance that Jurgen Klopp’s team were unable to turn into three points.
It means Arsenal are top of the table on goal difference ahead of Liverpool after their battling 2-1 win over Brentford.
Manchester United started the latest round of fixtures with a comfortable win over Everton. Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford scored first-half penalties to give the Red Devils a 2-0 victory, in which their performance was not wholly convincing but they rarely looked likely to let the Toffees back into the contest.
Tottenham claimed a huge 4-0 win over top-four rivals at Villa Park to hugely enhance their Champions League hopes, not least when considering the huge goal-difference swing.
The Sporting News will update the table below and break down each of the key races throughout the 2023/24 season.

The big news in 2023/24 is that there’s a scenario in which the Premier League could see the top five teams all qualify for the UEFA Champions League if England finishes as one of the top two performing nations in European club cup competitions.
If the FA Cup winner or Carabao Cup winner finish in the top four, the European cup berth that accompanies that title would go to the next team in the Premier League standings not already qualified for Europe.
