Another Sky Sports presenter reveals he is leaving amid widespread job cuts – Daily Mail

Yet another presenter has left Sky Sports amid job cutting continuing to bite at the broadcaster.
The high-profile 53-year-old announced his departure with a heartfelt social media post.
He said: Some of the crowd are on the pitch, they think it’s all over. It is now. Full time for me. Thanks to @skysports for some amazing memories.
‘Looking forward to the future and whatever might come my way. See you all very soon.’
The news comes a week after several high-profile exits amid widespread job cuts, with commentator Martin Tyler also leaving.

The presenter is John Fendley, also known as ‘Fenners’, who presented Soccer AM, replacing Max Rushden and working alongside former Premier League footballer Jimmy Bullard.
He also occasionally worked as a feature reporter on flagship results programme Soccer Saturday.
Last week, Mail Sport reported that Sky had axed half of their football reporting team in a brutal cost-cutting exercise which could also see the exit of veteran interviewer Geoff Shreeves.
Mail Sport learned that Shreeves has been asked to take a significant pay-cut if he wants to extend his stay at the broadcaster he first joined when the Premier League started in 1992.
Shreeves is considering his options, as with 31 years of employment at Sky he would be entitled to a large redundancy package should he choose to leave and may attract offers elsewhere.
The rest of Sky’s decisions have been made after a consultation over redundancies in April, with six of their 13-strong team of football reporters being cut, although some chose to go voluntarily and others may be offered alternative roles.
Experienced and well-respected journalists including Guy Havord, Dickie Davis, Bianca Westwood, Greg Whelan, Lynsey Hooper and Jaydee Dyer will not be continuing in their current roles.
Emma Saunders appears to be the only female reporter to survive the cull, along with David Craig, Patrick Davidson, Jonathan Oakes, Johnny Phillips and Luke Shanley.

Tyler began at Sky Sports 33 years ago and became one of the most recognisable voices in the history of Premier League football, commentating Super Sunday as well as other programmes
Sky’s decision to remove half of their football reporting team will raise further questions over the future of the Soccer Saturday show, which is currently without a presenter after Jeff Stelling confirmed he was leaving at the end of the season.
Sky declined to comment.
Meanwhile, it was announced the iconic television commentator Martin Tyler would step down from his role with Sky Sports ahead of the new Premier League season.
Tyler, whose 33-year spell with the broadcaster has been called to an end, was perceived by many as the voice of Sky Sports’ Premier League coverage and has become one of the most recognisable commentators in football history.
The 77-year-old was lead commentator on Sky Sports’ flagship weekend show, Super Sunday, and featured prominently as well on other programmes – covering global events such as the Champions League, World Cup and European Championships for broadcasters in the US and Australia.
