Handset maker Xiaomi has initiated the rollout of Android 14-based HyperOS update for its flagship Xiaomi 13 Pro, with plans to extend the update to the Xiaomi Pad 6 soon. Additionally, Xiaomi India has affirmed that the recently unveiled Redmi Note 13 series is HyperOS-ready and is anticipated to receive the update in the coming weeks.
Realme has scheduled a media preview event named ‘Hey Flagship, Meet Periscope’ on January 10 in Las Vegas to unveil their flagship periscope camera technology. The company aims to make periscope telephoto more accessible to younger users by introducing this typically expensive and technically challenging technology in affordable mid-tier smartphones.
Flipkart, an e-commerce major, is reportedly mulling a workforce reduction of 5-7 per cent in early 2024, affecting approximately 1,500 employees from its current workforce of around 22,000. The job cuts are expected to be executed through performance reviews, with implementation scheduled for March-April, as reported by The Economic Times. Additionally, Flipkart is considering internal restructuring to optimize resources and sustain profitability. While the company has not officially commented on this development, it’s worth noting that annual job cuts based on performance reviews have occurred at Flipkart in the past.
The OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R are slated to launch in India and worldwide on January 23. Ahead of the official reveal, pricing information for the devices in the US has surfaced online. Said to be a flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 12 might be priced higher than its predecessor, the OnePlus 11, which was slaunched at the company’s ‘Cloud 11’ event. However, the OnePlus 12R is said to offer to be launched at a budget-friendly price point.
