If you’re searching for Nigeria players transfer news, speculations and rumours, look no further, we’ve got you covered.
From the days of Austin ‘Jay-Jay’ Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu, and John Obi Mikel to present-day Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Victor Boniface, many talented Nigerians have proven themselves all over the world’s best leagues.
Some of these players were highly sought-after, with some of the biggest clubs in the world competing for their services.
In this article, we will provide all the info you need, which will be updated regularly as the transfer news breaks.
Wilfred Ndidi is expected to decide his future at Leicester City in the next few days, according to BBC Sport.
The 27-year-old Nigerian has been in extensive talks with the Foxes over a new deal but has also seen a couple of Premier League and other European clubs fighting for his signature.
Ndidi has been impressed with Leicester’s efforts to keep him, but other big clubs are waiting on the sidelines to exploit any late change of mind from the Super Eagles midfielder.
It has reached crunch time in the negotiations after his previous deal at the King Power stadium expired on 30 June.
Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka could leave Brentford this summer because of limited playing time. According to The Athletic, the club has left the exit door open for Onyeka, even though he is still viewed as an important squad member.
The Bees will want a transfer fee of about £8.5m, the same amount they paid to Danish outfit Midtjylland in 2021.
It is worth mentioning that the player’s current contract runs until 2027, but the prospect of gaining more playing time elsewhere could see the AFCON 2023 silver medalist on the move this summer.
Former Flying Eagles striker Paschal Durugbor has sealed a transfer to Swiss second division side Neuchatel Xamax, according to reports.
Durugbor joined Sporting Lagos last season as they made their first appearance in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), but the move did not go as planned.
The 24-year-old striker contributed four goals in 17 appearances for the Lagos-based side, who got relegated at the end of the season.
Xamax currently ply their trade in the second tier of Swiss football. Last season, they failed to gain promotion to the top flight because they finished fourth, but the acquisition of this Nigerian striker could turn their fortunes around in the coming season.

Despite interest from a couple of Premier League and other European clubs in recent weeks, Leicester City are confident Wilfried Ndidi will extend his stay at the King Power.
Reports suggest the Nigerian is close to signing a new three-year contract, with a release clause included, despite five bids coming in for him.
Ndidi joined Leicester in 2017 from Genk in a deal worth £17m, six months after the club’s historic Premier League triumph.
Since then, he has played 273 times for the Foxes, scored 17 goals and bagged 17 assists in the process. It will be interesting to see how things turn out in the next couple of days.
With Romelu Lukaku back at Chelsea following the conclusion of his loan, Roma are in the transfer market to secure a strong forward this summer.
According to an exclusive piece by LaRoma24.it, Daniele De Rossi’s side have put Nigerian striker Terem Moffi as one of their targets up front.
Currently in the books of Nice, Moffi had a productive season with the French outfit, having scored 11 goals and provided 2 assists in 32 appearances last season.
Gabriel Osho has completed his move to French club Auxerre after the expiration of his contract with Luton Town.
Osho was part of the Hatters team that gained promotion to the Premier League in the 2022/23 campaign. He made 21 league appearances last season and scored twice.
His one-year deal—with an option to extend—will see the 25-year-old play in the French domestic top flight after Auxerre gained promotion under manager Christophe Pélissier in May.

According to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via Sempre Inter, Inter Milan midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro is close to joining Sampdoria on loan.
The 19-year-old marked his senior debut for Inter from the bench in a Serie A match against Lecce last season after a steady progress from the Nerazzurri’s U-19 youth set-up.
But with limited playing time in the first team, the club deemed it necessary to send him on a season-long loan to Sampdoria in order to get more regular minutes at senior level.
Nigerian winger Hilary Gong has signed for Widzew Lodz from AS Trencin, becoming the club’s sixth acquisition this summer transfer window.
Gong penned a deal that will keep him at his new club until June 2026 with the option to extend it for another season.
The 25-year-old impressed the manager of the Polish side Daniel Myśliwiec during a winter friendly against AS Trencin. In that game, Gong scored a goal and provided an assist against the Lodz team, making his presence felt in the Red Army’s defence.
Last season, the forward made 31 appearances in the Slovak top league, scoring 5 goals and providing 4 assists. Additionally, he scored one goal in three matches in the domestic cup.
Finnish side Ilves have signed Nigerian defender Joshua Akpudje from Georgian outfit Dinamo Tbilisi.
The Lagos-born Akpudje is viewed as a player who will bolster Ilves and add width to the team.
The 25-year-old defender has already gained experience in several European leagues, having played in Latvia, Lithuania, Czech Republic, and Georgia.
He had this to say after after completing his move:
“It’s great to be in Finland. Tampere is a wonderful city and the stadium is beautiful. I also know that many young players have been successful here. Now I get to show my best here and give something to my team and its supporters.”

Eldense strengthened their attack with the signing of Sixtus Ogbuehi. The Nigerian will play in Elda in the coming seasons after his time with Ceuta came to an end.
Ogbuehi has experience with several teams in the Spanish league, but this will be his first opportunity in the Segunda Division.
The 21-year-old Nigerian reinforces the attack of the Alicante team who have started their pre-season friendlies.
Under new coach Dani Ponz, Eldense will look to actualise their objectives in their second consecutive season in the Segunda Division.
