No fewer than twelve youngsters have been selected to represent Nigeria at the forthcoming World Youth Scrabble Championship in Sri Lanka.

The championship is billed to take place from September 6 to 8 in Sri Lanka.
The Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF), in a press release made available to Completesports.com highlighted the list of the players which consists of eight boys and four girls.
The team’s list has Joy Nwabuzor who won gold for Edo State during the 7th National Youth Games (NYG) held in Asaba, Delta State as the captain.
Also, the list has other talented wordsmith players including Abdulqudus Aliu who led Kwara State to sweep the top honours at the Games and winner of the African Youth Scrabble Championship WASC U-15, Prestige Archibong.
Others are Ese Ejenakevbe, Sufyan Boluwatife, nine-year-old scrabble wizkid, Saviour Onazi, and Clinton Imode
Other strong hands are Hauwa Abdullahi, Sophia Ekeruche and Michelle Ikekeregor – the girls who will help defend Nigeria’s colors during the World Championship.
The team’s coach Samuel Eromosele expressed confidence that his players have the capacity to finish at top of the medal table in Sri Lanka in September.
“I started working with this group in October 2022 when I was commissioned to prepare the National Youth Team for the 2023 African Youth Scrabble Championship and rule the AYSC event in Lagos,” Eromosele said.
