Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Jarrad Branthwaite's representatives, the Times report.
But United are yet to agree a transfer fee with Everton, who are demanding £70million for the defender.
Branthwaite, who missed out of England's 26-man squad for the European Championship, would earn between £150,000 and £160,000 per week at Old Trafford.
Ivan Toney has declared that he's "ready" for a move away from Brentford after entering the final 12 months of his contract.
Speaking to talkSPORT, the 28-year-old England international explained: "I'm a Brentford player. I have a year left. Going into a major tournament, that is my main focus now.
"But after this, I'll be going back to Brentford and I will be a Brentford player still. It's nice to be linked with other clubs. But I've had this in the past. Nothing is done until it's done. Like I said, I'm a Brentford player and I’m focused on doing well for Brentford for the upcoming season. That's the main thing.."
When pressed on whether he's ready for the step up, Toney replied: "Obviously, if it was to come, I would be ready. But I've got to remain focused and not let other things and other noise get the best of me and just focus on what I need to do for my club."

Manchester United and Liverpool have joined the race to sign Lille wonderkid Leny Yoro, despite Real Madrid being the firm favourites to sign him.
The Athletic report that both Premier League clubs are actively pursuing the 18-year-old centre-back, who's received rave reviews in France.
Paris Saint-Germain are also keen but there's an acceptance from those with knowledge of the situation that Yoro is most likely to end up in Madrid.
Nuri Sahin is in talks to become Borussia Dortmund's next manager at the age of 35, Bild report.
Dortmund announced earlier today that Terzic, who recently led them to the Champions League final, would leave the German giants with immediate affect.
His former assistant, Sahin, who also played for Dortmund, Real Madrid and Liverpool, is now being tipped to succeed him.
Chelsea have already made the first move in the battle for £60million Michael Olise.
Despite investing heavily in the right-sided position, the Blues have earmarked the berth for Crystal Palace 's versatile 22-year-old in Enzo Maresca’s team for next season. Chelsea are desperate to beat both Manchester clubs, Arsenal and Liverpool to land Olise and have made contact with Crystal Palace this week.
Palace – who accept he wants to play in the Champions League – will only listen to offers between £60m-£70m to land the man who scored 10 times from just 14 league starts, assisting six times over the past season.

Newly-appointed Fenerbahce boss Jose Mourinho is ready to battle bitter rivals Galatasaray to sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Tottenham.
Hojbjerg, 28, is available this summer and Turkish outlet Takvim claim that both Istanbul clubs want the Denmark international midfielder.
Manchester United could be set up for a dire transfer window – given the reaction of a potential manager to their money issues.
The Red Devils will be heading into the 2024/25 season with Erik ten Hag after the Dutchman's future was sorted earlier this week, with a new contract being discussed to further his stay in Manchester.
Following a lowly eighth-placed Premier League finish, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos conducted a post-season review while conducting conversations with potential candidates to replace the 54-year-old.
However, those discussions went awry with one manager on United's shortlist being left 'astounded' by the low wages they would be on if they took the job, according to The Times, while another was 'left unimpressed' by the budget they'd be handed for transfer arrivals.

Newcastle United have confirmed the signing of Lloyd Kelly on a five-year contract, marking the club's first summer signing.
The former Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly joins on a free transfer following the expiry of his deal with Bournemouth.
The versatile centre-back and full-back previously worked with Newcastle boss Eddie Howe while head coach of the Cherries.
Kelly reportedly rebuffed interest from Juventus and other European clubs to join the Magpies.
We are delighted to announce that Lloyd Kelly will join the club on 1 July 2024.

FC Twente claim they are “super relaxed” about Ajax targeting Burnley striker Wout Weghorst.
Burnley aim to offload the unwanted Weghorst again this summer after loan spells at Hoffenheim, Manchester United and Besiktas and FC Twente are battling Ajax to land him.
FC Twente are in touch with Weghorst, who is part of Ronald Koeman’s Holland squad at Euro 2024, and are not worried by Ajax’s entry into the race for the 6ft 6ins hitman.
FC Twente technical director Arnold Bruggink said: “I also hear all the rumours and speculation, but we don’t let ourselves be fooled and we don’t worry about it.
“To be honest, I’m super relaxed about it. We still have very good contact with Wout and his agent. The situation is still unchanged.”
Michael Olise is the man in demand and according to the Mirror's Darren Lewis, Chelsea are leading the race.
The Blues have already made the first move in the battle for £60million Michael Olise, putting them in the driver's seat to acquire the versatile 22-year-old for next season.
Chelsea are desperate to beat both Manchester clubs, Arsenal and Liverpool to land Olise and have made contact with Crystal Palace this week.

Manchester United are interested in a deal for Matthijs de Ligt, according to Sky Germany.
Manager Erik ten Hag has issued a number of demands to United's top brass, one of them being a strengthening of central defence options following last season's injury crisis.
The Dutch centre-back is expected to leave Bayern Munich this summer and previously worked with Ten Hag at Ajax.
Vincent Kompany’s Bayern will apparently sell the 24-year-old for a “suitable offer” as they prepare to sign Stuttgart’s Hiroki Ito and also chase a deal for Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah.
Roma are reportedly bracing themselves for myriad bids from the Premier League for striker Tammy Abraham this summer.
The former Chelsea striker joined the Italian side in 2021, going on to score 17 goals in his Serie A debut, a record high for an Englishman. He also won the Europa Conference League.
Abraham's second season struggled to live up to the hype of his first, with the striker scoring just eight league goals. The most recent season was blighted by a long-term knee injury limiting him to just eight league appearances and one goal.
Yet, having returned to fitness, a move back to the Premier League could be on the cards for the 26-year-old with West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa all monitoring his situation, according to the Telegraph.
Abraham could be available for around £20 million, albeit Roma's own financial fair play issues could shift the price.
The England international currently has two years remaining on his current deal.
West Ham United have confirmed the signing of Luis Guilherme.
The 18-year-old has signed a five-year contract and joins the Premier League club from Brazilian side Palmeiras.
On the move, Guilherme said: "I'm very happy to be signing with West Ham United, a club that trusted in my work. I also want to thank everyone at West Ham, particularly Tim (Steidten, sporting director) and his team who came to Brazil and not only talked with me, but also with my family."
He added: "The Premier League is the best league in the world. Growing up, whenever I had the chance, I watched English football. Seeing how it is and now being able to play here is an incredible feeling."
Former Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit believes the Blues should keep Conor Gallagher, with the midfielder currently the subject of interest from Aston Villa and Tottenham.
"How many English players are actually in Chelsea’s dressing room? Not many who play for the first team," Petit told Betway. "What’s the point of spending so much money for the last two years, and then all of a sudden you have to sell because of the financial rules?
"I don’t get it. When I read the newspapers, you are willing to bring more players into the dressing room? Do they know that they still play with 11 players on the pitch? Try to work with your players.
"If you have to sell, then sell – but don’t buy more players. They’re going to bring more trouble into the dressing room if they do that. You can buy two or three players, you can sell two players, fair enough, but don’t change a lot of players again and again.
"It’s so important for English fans to see English players on the pitch. In my time with Arsenal, the back four were typical English players, and it was very important because they were the identity of the club.
"I know that identity is not there anymore in football, but come on, do you think Gallagher is the first one you have to sell? When I look at the squad, I think there are a lot of players to sell before him."
Arsenal have abandoned their pursuit of a new striker after being rejected by Benjamin Sesko.
The Gunners had previously prioritised a move for the Red Bull Leipzig striker. They were considering activating the £55million release clause written into his contract with the German side.
Arsenal weren’t the only side interested though. Premier League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea were also keeping a close eye on Sesko. It now appears none of them will be signing him. The Slovenian striker has penned a new deal with Leipzig until 2029.
And that has forced Arsenal to change tactic heading into the summer transfer window. According to The Telegraph, a new striker is now not among their priorities for the coming months.
Borussia Dortmund boss Edin Terzic has left the club after offering his resignation.
Terzic guided Dortmund to the Champions League final earlier this month, where they lost 2-0 to Real Madrid. "Dear Borussia fans, even though it hurts me terribly right now, I would like to tell you that I will be leaving BVB today," Terzic said.
"It was a huge honour to be able to lead this great club to a DFB Cup victory and most recently to a Champions League final. I asked those responsible for a meeting after our final at Wembley because after nine years at BVB, including six years on the coaching team and two and a half years as head coach, I feel that the upcoming new start should be accompanied by a new man on the sidelines.
"Everyone who knows me knows that during this decision-making process of the past few weeks, two hearts have been beating in my chest. But even after intensive discussions, my basic feeling has not changed. I wish Borussia Dortmund only the very best and say thank you and goodbye."
Former Manchester United star Louis Saha believes Red Devils captain Bruno Fernandes "should be allowed to think" about leaving the club, amid rumours linking him with Bayern Munich.
"We all know that Bruno Fernandes loves Manchester United and he always gives 100%, if not more, when he plays," Saha told Betfred. "He’s the captain and he works as hard as he can for the team, but the club is currently in transition and it’s proven that there’s still some issues to resolve.
"He’s been criticised a lot over the past year in regards to the captaincy and things like that and I’m sure he will want to be playing in the Champions League. As an individual, you really need to think about these things and if Bayern Munich or any other huge club comes in for him, then he should be allowed to think about what’s best for him.
"Manchester United aren’t in a great position at the moment and they won’t be competing in the Champions League next season. There’s also a lot of consistency issues within the squad and considering that there’s a new board, Bruno may need to be reassured of a few things before pledging his future to the club.
"I’ve seen a lot of criticism go in his direction and it’s really sad to see because he’s the only player that’s performed consistently for Manchester United over the past few years."
Lionel Messi knows his time playing professional football is almost up and has admitted as such.
The 36-year-old football legend has explained how he already is thinking about life outside of the pitch and has shared that he is just about at the end of his playing career. In an interview with ESPN Argentina ahead of the Copa America, the Inter Miami star revealed that the MLS side will be "his last club" and said he does not have a lot of "time" before he hangs up his boots for good.
"Inter Miami will be my last club, yes," Messi said in a Spanish interview. "As of today, it's gonna be my last one. I love playing football, I enjoy everything much more because I am aware that every time there's less and less."
Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori has been tipped for a move to Arsenal this summer, with former Italy international Massimo Ambrosini claiming he would be a "perfect" signing.
"Riccardo Calafiori, from Bologna. He has had an incredible season," Ambrosini told OLBG. "For me, he has everything to play at the top level and be in top Premier League squads in the future. He can play at centre-back, at left-back and under Thiago Motta in Bologna he started to move into midfield and even play like a striker, he has everything.
"He loves playing with the ball, Bologna were one of the first or second teams in the Italian league for possession so I think Arsenal would be perfect for him. He could play in the middle or on the left, maybe in Oleksandr Zinchenko’s role. It would be perfect for him."
Sam Kerr has signed a new deal with Chelsea that keeps her at the club until 2026 – despite teasing fans that she could be departing.
Kerr, 30, joined the Blues midway through the 2019-20 season and has proceeded to become one of English women's football's most fearsome goalscorers, scoring 99 goals in 128 appearances for the club.
Indeed, the arrival of the Matildas' captain has coincided with Chelsea's most successful period in the club's history. Kerr doesn't know a season in England that does not end with a Women's Super League winner's medal. She has also helped Chelsea to three Women's FA Cup titles and two League Cup finals, as well as reaching the Champions League final in 2020-21.
The forward has also won the WSL's Golden Boot twice and finished in the top three of Ballon d'Or rankings for three successive years.
Liverpool have banked millions thanks to former flop Luis Alberto eight years after he quit Anfield.
The Spaniard – who was on Merseyside between 2013 and 2016 – has completed a £8.4million transfer to Qatari side Al-Duhail. The move brings to an end Alberto’s successful stint with Italian giants Lazio.
The now 31-year-old moved to Rome in 2016 after struggling with Liverpool. And the Reds were due around 30 percent of any future transfer fee that Lazio received for any sale.
It means that the Reds have secured around £2.4m on top of the £3.3m that they banked when originally selling him to Lazio. Liverpool will certainly be thankful that Al-Duhail agreed a deal with the Italians, after the midfielder demanded his contract be ripped up.
Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit believes his former club must sign a new striker this summer, with RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko snubbing a move to the Emirates.
"They need a striker, if they want to reach another step," Petit told Betway. "They’ve been improving a lot for the last four years, but we all know what happened against Bayern Munich, for example.
"I had the feeling that with a proper No. 9 asking for the ball behind the defender, you can change the system, you can use different options in the way Arsenal are playing."
Chelsea have agreed a deal for Sport Recife defender Pedro Lima, according to reports.
The 21-year-old full-back is set to sign for the Blues in a £6million deal which could rise to £9m with add-ons, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Benjamin Sesko claims signing a new deal at RB Leipzig was "the logical next step for me" after snubbing interest from the likes of Arsenal.
The Gunners are in the market for a striker as they seek to add more firepower to their attack. Sesko was identified as a target and was thought to be keen on a switch to the Emirates having knocked back Manchester United's advances 12 months ago.
The 21-year-old Slovenian scored 18 times in his debut season in the Bundesliga, admitting to a slow start, but has fully backed the environment at the German club as he seeks to give back having felt huge support from those around him.
He said after signing a new deal: "I had a good first year at RB Leipzig and am incredibly happy to be here. Team, club, city, fans – the overall package is simply outstanding for me. The early contract extension was therefore the logical next step for me."
Juventus are set to submit an offer for Mason Greenwood, according to Sky Sports in Italy.
Greenwood, 22, will be given the green light to leave Manchester United for good this summer.
But Juve are set to submit a €30m (£25m) bid for the player – a figure some way short of United's €50million (£42m) valuation.
