Arsenal host Chelsea in a midweek London derby in the Premier League tonight. The Gunners have the chance to move four points clear of Manchester City in the Premier League table, but the Blues and Mauricio Pochettino will be out to deny the hosts and land a blow in the title race.
Chelsea have won the Premier League five times since Arsenal last won the title 20 years ago, but Mikel Arteta’s side are set to finish above the Blues for the second consecutive year and can add further disappointment to their difficult season with a victory tonight. Chelsea were beaten in the FA Cup semi-finals on Sunday, despite being the better side against Manchester City, as missed chances cost Pochettino’s side once again.
The visitors are without star forward and the Premier League’s top scorer Cole Palmer tonight due to illness, while Arsenal will be looking to build on Saturday’s win at Wolves. Arteta’s side were facing the prospect of another late-season slump after back-to-back defeats to Aston Villa and Bayern Munich, and tonight is a must-win for the Gunners as they look to put pressure on champions Manchester City.

45+1 mins: There’s been a few bookings from the referee. Marc Cucurella and Alfie Gilchrist are put into the book and Mikel Arteta is shown a yellow for voicing his displeasure from the sidelines.
The whistle then goes for half-time. Arsenal lead.
42 mins: Chance! Conor Gallagher gets into space on the right wing and swings in a cross. Nicolas Jackson comes bombing into the area and leaps towards the ball.
He takes his eyes off the ball which hits his arm and bobbles towards the near post. David Raya jumps across to push the ball away just as the whistle goes for handball.
39 mins: Enzo Fernandez lifts a cheeky cross into the penalty area from the inside right. Conor Gallagher sneaks in behind the defenders and almost has a tap in.
David Raya comes off his line quickly and scoops up the ball before Gallagher can reach it.
36 mins: From a short corner, Martin Odegaard tees up Bukayo Saka. He taps the ball forward then laces a shot over the crossbar.
33 mins: Kai Havertz lifts a cross in from the left wing and almost picks out Bukayo Saka. Marc Cucurella beats the Arsenal forward in the air and wins a free kick for Chelsea.
30 mins: Half an hour gone at the Emirates. Arsenal have been the more aggressive side but Chelsea have shown a bit of resistance in the last few minutes.
Should they score this one will only get more lively.
27 mins: Save! Petrovic makes up for his lacklustre attempt to keep out Trossard’s goal by denying Arsenal a second.
The keeper pulls off a sensational stop to keep out a Havertz cross that deflects off a defender at the last moment. It looks certain to drop into the corner but Petrovic gets across and keeps it out.
25 mins: Oh my! That’s wonderful from Martin Odegaard who tricks three defenders with his fancy footwork before slotting a teasing pass into the six yard box. Bukayo Saka misses the ball but it comes through to Ben White.
He rolls it off to Thomas Partey whose first time shot gets blocked and cleared.
Woodwork! Nicolas Jackson brings the ball under control and takes on William Saliba. He flies into the box and has a go, rattling the near post with his effort.
22 mins: Close! Arsenal are a different class. Declan Rice nicks the ball off Enzo Fernandez deep in Chelsea’s half. He checks to the right and smokes one at goal.
The effort is a good one but the ball continues to rise and flies over the top.
19 mins: A miscued pass back to David Raya from Bukayo Saka sends the ball out for a corner. Mykhailo Mudryk is the man tasked with sending it into the penalty area.
His cross gets flicked on and Axel Disasi just misses the ball for a tap in at the far post! That was a close one.
