Atletico Madrid vs Borussia Dortmund LIVE!
Atletico Madrid scored two first-half goals to keep a slim advantage over Borussia Dortmund in their Champions League quarter-final first leg on Wednesday night.
Rodrigo de Paul put the home side in front within just four minutes after a calamitous loose pass from Ian Maatsen went straight to the Argentine midfielder.
Atletico continued to dominate a nervy Dortmund in the first-half, and Samuel Lino doubled their lead with a tidy finish.
Simeone’s side should have put the game to bed in the second-half but Gregor Kobel denied  Lino a brace from point-blank range. Substitute Sebastien Haller then grabbed one back for Dortmund. The former West Ham forward swivelled then struck the ball into the bottom left corner to set up an anxious finish at the Estadio Metropolitano.
Dortmund were just inches away from an equaliser as Julian Brandt powered a header against the crossbar in the last action of the game.
The Spanish side take a narrow lead to the Signal Iduna Park for next Tuesday’s second leg.
