Rangers continue talks on temporary use of Hampden for early fixtures – BBC

The Hampden Park capacity is just under 52,000
Discussions are continuing between Rangers and the Scottish FA with a view to the club playing some early season fixtures at Hampden Park.
Rangers announced last month that delays to renovation work at Ibrox meant they would be forced to look for an alternative venue for their opening fixtures.
It is understood initial talks took place with the SFA last week, with more planned.
Any deal could depend on the readiness of the pitch at the national stadium, which has recently been returfed after a series of summer concerts.
The situation could be further complicated by Queen's Park having an agreement to use Hampden, external for their home matches following Scotland's Nations League match against Poland on 5 September.
BBC Scotland understands contact has also been made with Scottish Rugby about the possibility of using Murrayfield.
The Edinburgh stadium will host a friendly between Rangers and Manchester United on 20 July and was used by Celtic for European qualifiers in 2014, while it hosted one of the 2018 League Cup semi-finals.
Rangers' first home game of the new season is against Motherwell on 10 August.
