The absolute state of some fans. Virtually everyone complaining about this decision hasn't taken the effort to read about it or think logically. To name a few salient points: 1) the rules are inherently unjust and aren't fit for purpose. They favour the already big clubs and shut out everyone else. 2) The commission found that Everton did NOT gain any sporting advantage, nor did they seek to. Their overspend came from stadium interest payments and losing a Russian sponsor. A literal war caused this. 3) Everton have been given a sporting punishment for a financial rule break. That in itself is perverse. Get a grip.

Blackburn v Newcastle (Tue, 19:45 GMT)
We finish our round-up of today's FA Cup news conferences with a line from Blackburn boss John Eustace on facing Newcastle: "Everyone's really excited about it, it's a real special night.
"We're playing against a fantastic team, one of best teams in the Premier League, so it's a real good chance for the lads to showcase themselves and hopefully do us proud.
"As long as we’re committed and give it our best, that’s all you can ask for. Hopefully we can win the game, of course, but there’s certainly no pressure on the boys to win, it’s about enjoying the evening and playing against top players.
"The FA Cup is a real special competition, Blackburn Rovers have won it six times, something we as a football club are very proud of, and it’s important we take the competition very seriously."

RE: Paul – Everton will make considerably more money in the upcoming seasons from the increased capacity at their stadium and sponsorship deals. Are you really suggesting that won't be spent on players and coaching staff? Of course it should be considered and the punishment is just!
Chris
To Paul G – of course, they gained an advantage by overspending. They bought Abdoulaye Doucoure with the money they shouldn’t have been spending and he kept them up as a result of scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win against Bournemouth and ended up surviving relegation by 2 points. If they hadn’t overspent, they’d be down.

Nottm Forest v Man Utd (Wed, 19:45 GMT)
Nottingham Forest
A final word from Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo on FA Cup opponents Manchester United:
"They're a very good team with a very good squad. We are going to face a tough opponent on Wednesday. [The win over United in December] is useful for us to look at, knowing that it's not going to be a repeat. It's going to be a new one, new things will happen, but we want to go for the game, continue in the FA Cup and give big joy and happiness to our fantastic fans."
Nottm Forest v Man Utd (Wed, 19:45 GMT)
Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo says he has the same squad of available players to choose from that lost 4-2 in Saturday's Premier League match at Aston Villa.
Nuno added that he would treat selection "game-by-game", with leaders Liverpool next up in the league this weekend.
"You cannot think what's coming up, you have to deal with situations in front of you," he said. "If you're concerned about what can happen, my idea doesn't make sense. We always look for the best."
Nottm Forest v Man Utd (Wed, 19:45 GMT)
Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo, speaking before his side's fifth-round FA Cup tie at home to Manchester United, on Everton's point deduction being reduced to six points:
"I understand you will ask about this but I cannot tell you much. We still have to wait for the decision regarding us to be made, then we will see."
On the progress of Forest's ongoing case, he added: "You should ask someone else from the club, my job is to prepare the team. Regarding the hearing and the decision, we are waiting. There are people in the club taking care of that."
Speaking about Nottingham Forest, shall we hear from manager Nuno Espirito Santo?
Predictably, he was asked about the impact of Everton's appeal decision on Forest and also for an update about the club's own, ongoing case.
His response is coming up…

Honestly, as a Forest fan, I'm just so over all of the uncertainty, unknowns and conjecture at this point. This season has basically been ruined by off-field drama for many clubs at the bottom. The Premier League is supposed to be the promised land for teams but unless you're a top-eight club it's just pretty depressing.

FFP point deductions should be purely linked to players costs, this would even up the entire league. Everton never deserved point deductions for ground expenditure & sponsors. Can I remind everyone, Everton had NO sporting advantage by breaching these rules, their net spend on players over the last five years is £21m, hence the struggle!

Chelsea v Leeds (Wed, 19:30 GMT)
Leeds United
Leeds manager Daniel Farke has also been speaking about the club's hectic schedule as he prepares his side for Wednesday's fifth-round FA Cup tie at Chelsea: "We are heading into a pretty busy period with the FA Cup game then also three league games in six days.
"We need all the energy so the last two days were important to relax and be mentally and physically ready.
"We head into the new week with a good feeling, confidence and a smile on our face."
Bournemouth v Leicester (Tue, 19:30 GMT)
Leicester City
Moving on from the Bournemouth manager to Enzo Maresca, his opposite number at FA Cup fifth-round opponents Leicester.
Maresca has given some team news following the club's defeat at Championship title rivals Leeds on Friday: "Kasey [McAtee] had some problems. We don’t know if he can be available for tomorrow.
"Jamie [Vardy] is injured. They said to me, it could be one week, 10 days, maybe two weeks, and Wilf [Ndidi] is still injured.
"We'll go strong. But for sure we are going to make changes. We are going to make nine, 10, 11 changes. There are players who deserve their chances. We’re going to prepare the game the best we can to win the game.
"We just need to make our best and try to win the game."

I understand Luton fans' frustration. The way the process is handled is the problem though. The public announcement should be after any appeal and only made once a final decision has been reached. Everyone knows where they stand then.

Bournemouth v Leicester (Tue, 19:30 GMT)
Bournemouth
Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola on Leicester: “It’s a great chance for us but also a challenge.
“If we win tomorrow, it’s very nice to have the chance to be in the last eight.
“Also, we know that it’s going to be a big challenge because we are facing a very, very good team.”
Bournemouth v Leicester (Tue, 19:30 GMT)
Bournemouth
Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola on team news ahead of Leicester game: “We will see how the players feel today as we are training this evening.
“It’s not even two days from a very demanding game against Manchester City, understandably some of the players will be very tired.
“So after training, the decisions on the team will start from there as we need to make the right choices.
“In terms of bigger injuries, the players will be the same apart from Philip Billing, who we have available after the red card.
“Lloyd Kelly is missing and will continue to be missing this game and maybe more, we will see.”
We will return to that seismic news about Everton's appeal outcome throughout the next hour, and feature more of your opinions on the topic, but we also have some quotes from today's FA Cup news conferences to bring you too.
Let's start with Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola, who has been speaking about Tuesday's visit of Championship leaders Leicester..,
Shall we balance out all this talk of financial breaches and points deductions with some unadulterated football action?

So despite Everton knowingly & willingly breaking the rules they get a reduced sentence. Maybe they'll just add them back on when their other charge comes up.

Luton v Man City (Tue, 20:00 GMT)
Luton Town
More from Luton Town manager Rob Edwards on the challenge his side faces in the FA Cup fifth round at home to Manchester City, who came from behind to beat the Hatters 2-1 at Kenilworth Road in the league:
"They’re the most difficult team we’ve played against at home.
"I know they were missing a few last time. But they can handle the ball in tight spaces, the detail of their passing was incredible, the timing was incredible.
"There are areas we can be better in. We are a better team from two months ago so we can take confidence."

Everton points deduction: BBC Sport’s Simon Stone says story not over just yet
BBC Sport's Simon Stone reflects that, for now, this is a good day for Everton, following the four-point reduction of their 10-point penalty, but leaves Burnley and Sheffield United in huge trouble:
"It has a big effect on the bottom of the table because it moves Everton up into 15th spot, above Brentford and leaves Luton four points away from safety. More importantly, underneath them, it leaves Burnley and Sheffield United in huge trouble – 13 points adrift. But it is not the end of the story yet."
