Still, according to the Daily Mail, Liverpool manager Arne Slot – who worked with Wieffer at the Dutch club – remains interested in a move.

West Ham are close to signing Wolves captain Max Kilman after the club saw a £40m offer for the defender accepted.
According to Sky Sports, the centre-back will have his medical imminently ahead of a switch.
Liverpool have been linked with a huge move for Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon after reportedly holding talks with the Magpies when they were trying to raise funds to comply with PSR rules.
While there has been talk of the Toon offering their star turn a new contract, more insight has emerged.
According to Football Insider, the Reds remain keen but Newcastle are ready to demand £100m.
Ederson has been one of the key signings for Manchester City during the Pep Guardiola years.
His time at the Etihad Stadium, however, looks to be coming to an end.
According to talkSPORT, the Premier League champions are willing to accept £30m from Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr.
It’s been a busy start to the transfer window for Chelsea.
They’ve already signed five players and the Blues look ready to land another.
Young Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino is a £17m target and, according to Tyc Sports, the Blues have agreed terms.
The defender will stay on loan there next season before moving to Stamford Bridge.
Another Bologna star in Joshua Zirkzee has also been linked with a huge money move to the Premier League.
Arsenal have been credited with an interest in the Dutchman, along with AC Milan.
However, according to Corriere di Bologna, the striker has now agreed a move to Manchester United and a deal is thought to be imminent.
Arsenal have not made a signing yet this summer but do appear to be closing in on their first addition.
The Gunners are interested in Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori and, according to Fabrizio Romano, have now agreed terms with the Italy international over a move.
It looks like Mats Wieffer won’t be joining Liverpool this summer.
It had been rumoured that the Dutch midfielder could quickly reunite with former Feyenoord boss Arne Slot at Anfield in this transfer window.
However, the Daily Mail report that Brighton have now seen a £25m bid accepted for the 24-year-old, who is believed to be flying to the UK to finalise his move.
Michael Olise will reportedly undergo a medical this weekend as he prepares to finally seal a high-profile transfer to Bayern Munich.
The German giants have won the race for the Crystal Palace winger, beating the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle to a blockbuster deal last month.
Updates have been curiously few and far between since then, but Fabrizio Romano now reports that Olise will undergo the first part of his medical on Sunday.
It seems that Bayern and Crystal Palace wanted to clarify terms on the future sell-on clause after his release clause at Selhurst Park was successfully triggered.
