Team Nigeria Wins Silver Medals In Mixed 4x400m Relay, Hammer Throw At African Athletics Championship – Complete Sports
Team Nigeria’s mixed 4x400m relay quartet won Silver at the African Championships in Douala, Cameroon on Sunday.

The quartet of Emmanuel Ojeli, Ella Onojuvwevwo, Dubem Nwachukwu, and Patience Okon-George brought finished second in 3:13.72.
The gold went to South Africa in 3:13.12, while Botswana got Bronze in 3:15.93.
In the women’s hammer throw, sade Olatoye won silver for Team Nigeria, producing a best effort of 67.72m.
Making his international debut for Nigeria, Goodness Iredia claimed the bronze medal in the men’s Long Jump final a mark of 7.75m.
Iredia’s compatriot, Emmanuel Njoku, finished fourth in the event with a best effort of 7.72m.
However, it was not to be for Team Nigeria in the men’s and women’s 100 metres finals Kanyisola Ajayi and Olayinka Olajide missed out on a podium finish.
In the men’s final, Ajayi placed fourth in 10.20 seconds.
Joseph Fahnbulleh claimed the gold medal in 10.13s and Emmanuel Eseme of Cameroon won silver in 10.15 seconds and South Africa’s Benjamin Richardson got the bronze in 10.17s.
The women’s final saw Olajide finish a disappointing seventh place.
