More from Jos Buttler…
On Jonny Bairstow: "He batted at number four again today. He's a class player and has been for a really long time.
"You just keep backing class players. He hasn't had many opportunities but today was a really impressive innings, a mature, senior player's innings with a lot of power.
"He scored at a great lick when the game was in the balance."
Confidence-boosting win? "Definitely. A really good performance. A lot of players say you learn when you lose but I believe you learn when you win as well.
"It's important for us to reflect on what we did well today then focus on the next one."
England captain Jos Buttler: "I thought that was a really good performance from us.
"We've been practising well and I thought we executed really, really well and deserved the win."
On chasing 180: "Yeah, I thought we bowled really well to restrict such a powerful line-up of great six-hitters. It's still a decent score and you have to bat well to chase them down.
"I thought we were very smart with the bat, the guys were very calculated when they took their options on. The Bairstow-Salt partnership was so good.
"Jonny came in with great intent and took the momentum straight back and Salty tucked in behind him for a bit then he got that one big over to real break the back of it."
On Adil Rashid: "We kept saying he's our most important player. He has been for a really long time, he's got so much variation and threat of taking wickets but also restricting runs."

Phil Salt batting like he had an appointment to rush off too. Great display of batting and worth staying up for.
Dan, Wigan
West Indies captain Rovman Powell: "I think you've got to look at it from a batting perspective, we left 15 or 20 runs out there as a batting group, but we could've done more with the ball too.
"We're normally very good in the last five overs, but credit to England's bowling unit. We just need to sit, re-evaluate and take the positives.
On Brandon King's injury: "It's a little bit worrying but hopefully, he can pull through for the next game, he's very important to us.
On dropping Phil Salt early in the innings: "Those chances are very difficult but credit to Phil, he played very well.
On the rest of the Super 8s: "Our destiny is in our hands. It is for us to continue playing some good cricket, we have played some good cricket."

This has been a good opportunity for England to set a marker down for this stage of the tournament. Barring a couple overs with the ball, this was almost a perfect performance from England.

Who had “Bairstow not out but fails to reach 50 in huge England win” on their bingo card at the end of the 15th over?
Dave, London
England batter Phil Salt, who has been named Player of the Match: "I'm not looking too far ahead, I'm just really glad I could contribute to a good team win."
On his 30-run over: "It was a little bit tougher in the middle with the spin. Since [Kieron Pollard] has come in, he's said you can go eight at one side and 12 at the other and I've had that in my head and tried to attack the pace bowlers."
Tough to settle to conditions? "There's a lot of different factors which can affect it. There was a period where I didn't face many balls. In general, it was a very good wicket."
On Jonny Bairstow's innings: "It was crucial. Once Jos got out, I had to step up. Jonny came in and took the pressure off and too smart, calculated risks."
The partnership between Phil Salt and Jonny Bairstow ended up as 97 from 44 balls.
That's how you finish off a T20 chase.

England have turned up, the England that everyone has enjoyed watching over the last few years. They batted with power and bowled with skill.
They knew that when they got the bat in hand, once they got the momentum, they could take advantage of it. Phil Salt has played an outstanding and really mature innings here.
Eng 181-2
Jonny Bairstow seals the win for England. A very impressive display from Jos Buttler's side to start their Super 8s.
Phil Salt finishes unbeaten on 87 from 47 balls, while Bairstow's 48 not out from 26 was just as important in providing momentum in the second half of the innings.
Need 1 from 16 balls
Heaved leg side for two by Phil Salt and a mistimed pull then brings him a single.
The scores are level.

I've started a new job in England (apologies for not being as glamorous as other locations on this chat) but booked Thursday off for the football. Imagine my surprise when I got bonus cricket to stay up for.

This will be a big knock to the West Indies, they would have felt like a side in the mood.

Brilliant and calculated hitting from England here. They knew the strength was in the spinners and they were gettable. Phil Salt has just taken advantage of Romario Shepherd.
Need 5 from 22 balls
The end is nigh for West Indies now.
Another boundary from Phil Salt leaves England one shot from victory…

I think Phil Salt saw Jonny Bairstow and say 'no, I'm player of the match here.'
