Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd could sell Fernandes, Mourinho in new job talks, Chelsea and Arsenal latest – The Mirror
As all 20 Premier League clubs prepare for the final week of league games this season, attention will soon turn to an important summer transfer window for a number of managers
There are just days to go until the Premier League season wraps up, after a round of fixtures including Arsenal's crucial win at Old Trafford, and some fans and clubs will already be looking ahead to the summer transfer window.
Priorities are bound to be different for different clubs. Some will be looking to make big-money additions – either to kick on or to pick back up after difficult season – while others will be desperate to hold on to their in-demand stars.
The results of the final games of the season could also have a bearing, especially for the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle United. All three are looking to make sure of European qualification, but someone's set to be disappointed. There's some big midweek action involving Manchester City first, though, with the title hopefuls up against Champions League-chasing Spurs
Elsewhere, some managerial changes could play a part in determining transfer movements. Liverpool have the task of finding players for incoming manager Arne Slot to begin his journey, while other Premier League sides could find themselves fending off interest from Bayern Munich as the Bundesliga side move on from Thomas Tuchel.
With the European Championships on the horizon, there will also be plenty of players seeing the tournament as an audition. How many of them might we see flocking to the Premier League once the action in Germany wraps up in July.
We'll have all the latest for you, from the Premier League and beyond. Stay with us for all your transfer news today and throughout the week as we'll bring you all the latest developments.

Manchester United are keen on signing Fulham's Tosin Adarabioyo, who Newcastle are currently in pole position for.
Sky Sports report that while Newcastle held talks with the 26-year-old centre-back over the weekend, United have now joined the race.
Blackburn Rovers are in talks over another move to sign Orland City striker Duncan McGuire, having failed to sign him in January.
The Athletic report that Blackburn, who secured their Championship status on the final day, are sending a senior official over to North America to watch McGuire, 23, in action.
His move to Ewood Park fell through in calamitous fashion, as an "administrative error" denied Blackburn completing their initial loan deal on deadline day.
Erik ten Hag has once again attempted to shut down speculation surrounding the future Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes.
Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and clubs from the Saudi Pro League have today been linked with signing him after it was suggested last week that the Portuguese midfielder, 29, could leave the club this summer.
"It's the same question as last week. So I answered. The same answer," Ten Hag told a pre-match press conference.
"Now in all the years he was, he was a tremendously important player for Manchester United and creating the most chances across the Premier League. So many assists, so many goals. It's clear he's a very important player for us."
Manchester United are prepared to pay £55million for Jarrad Branthwaite – but Everton want closer to £80m.
The Daily Mail report that United are keen to sign the England youth international, with centre-back Raphael Varane having announced his departure from Old Trafford earlier today.
Branthwaite, 21, is considered Everton's most saleable assett, with the club in desperate need of income.

Reports are once again circulating claming that Massimiliano Allegri is set to leave Juventus at the end of the season.
Allegri, 56, returned to Turin for a second spell in 2021 which has come nowhere close to rivalling his trophy-laden first stint.
Juventus are fourth in Serie A, level on points with surprise package Bologna in third.
Red-hot Crystal Palace striker Jean-Phillipe Mateta says that he'll sit down with the club at the end of the season to discuss his future.
Mateta, who's scored 10 goals in 12 games since new manager Oliver Glasner took charge, has recently been linked with Serie A giants Napoli.
Speaking to French newspaper L'Equipe, he explained: "I'm going to have an interview with the coach and the managers and we'll see."
Experienced Brighton stars Danny Welbeck and James Milner have both signed new contracts, the club have announced.
Welbeck, 33, has signed a two-year deal until 2026, while Milner has extended his stay with the Seagulls for a further season.
Milner remains just 20 appearances off equalling the all-time Premier League record.
Brighton boss Robert De Zerbi said: "I am delighted for James and Danny, as they both deserve these extensions.
"Their qualities as footballers and also as individuals are very clear for everyone to see, so this is very good news for us."
We are delighted to announce that James Milner and Danny Welbeck have both agreed new contracts with the club!
Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram is on the market for just £13million this summer amid links to Liverpool.
According to local outlet Nice-Matin, the French club are willing to cash in on the 23-year-old midfielder, whose contract expires next summer.
The reported Liverpool target is the son of France legend Lillian Thuram and brother of Inter Milan forward Marcus.
Get the lowdown on Thuram here.
We've already heard that Bayern Munich and clubs in Saudi Arabia are interested in signing Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes.
Now the MEN report that Italian giants Inter Milan are also keen on the Portuguese midfielder.
Fernandes, 29, is understood to be open to an exit which would ease United's Financial Fair Play concerns.
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly willing to pay €80million (£68.7m) and send Randal Kolo Muani on loan to Napoli in order to sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The Georgian winger, 23, took Serie A by storm last season to help Napoli win their first league title in 30 years but could leave this summer like team-mate Victor Osimhen.
Calciomercato claim that PSG are keen on both players but have already made a proposal for Kvaratskhelia and are willing to cover Kolo Muani's full wages.
Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian has confirmed that he plans to leave the club when his contract expires next month.
The Spaniard, 37, doesn't expect to be offered a new deal when he sits down with Liverpool chiefs in the coming weeks and is eyeing a return to his homeland.
Adrian recently told Mucho Deporte: "I would like to return to La Liga after 11 seasons in the Premier League. It would be the end of a cycle."

Newcastle United are leading the race to sign Tosin Adarabioyo.
The Fulham defender is available as a free agent this summer after refusing to sign an extension at Craven Cottage.
And The Mail claim that Newcastle are the favourites to sign Adarabioyo, who has also been linked with Manchester United.
In case you missed it earlier, there is also interest in Bruno Fernandes in the Middle East.
The Telegraph claim that he, along with Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson and Man City's Ederson, are of interest to Saudi Pro League clubs.
So Man United have plenty of options if they do decide the time is right to cash in on their captain this summer.
Millwall have agreed a deal with Tottenham for defender Japhet Tanganga.
The Spurs star, 25, spent the second half of the 2023/24 campaign on loan with the Lions and played a significant role in helping the club retain their Championship status.
And Millwall have moved quickly to strike an agreement for the former England youth international as they bid to sign him up on a permanent basis.
It's now up to the Lions to agree personal terms with the defender.
Bayern Munich want to sign Bruno Fernandes – and they believe a deal is there to be done for the Manchester United captain.
The Independent has outlined that Fernandes has grown frustrated at Old Trafford and wants to win trophies – something that Bayern could offer.
And it's also claimed that United may well be open to selling given their need to sell players in order to meet the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules.
Nottingham Forest loanee Gio Reyna will return to parent club Borussia Dortmund over the summer, according to Sky in Germany (via Goal).
The United States international made a temporary move to the City Ground in January, with Jadon Sancho's loan switch to Dortmund further limiting his opportunities.
He has struggled for game time under Nuno Espirito Santo, though, starting just twice in Forest colours and making nine appearances in total.
BlueCo-owned Strasbourg are keen to keep Chelsea youngster Andrey Santos for another season after an impressive loan this term.
The Brazilian struggled at Nottingham Forest in the first half of the season, but has had a much better time of it in Ligue 1.
According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea have a decision to make over the young midfielder, who has yet to make his competitive debut for his parent club.
Manchester United could be able to land Denzel Dumfries for as little as £26million, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via the Manchester Evening News).
Dutch international right-back Dumfries has been linked on and off with an Old Trafford switch, and now appears ready to leave Inter Milan.
United are understood to be open to offers for current right-backs Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot this summer, but could face competition from Crystal Palace for Dumfries.
Major League Soccer newcomers San Diego FC are keen to make former Spain star Sergio Ramos one of their first signings.
Veteran centre-back Ramos is out of contract this summer, with The Athletic reporting that he's unlikely to remain with current club Sevilla beyond the end of the season.
San Diego will join MLS for the 2025 season, and are not understood to be the only club keen on Ramos, who previously rejected a Saudi move to rejoin Sevilla.
Raphael Varane's Manchester United exit comes at the end of a three-year spell at Old Trafford.
The centre-back joined from Real Madrid in the summer of 2021, but injuries have interrupted his final season at the club.
United opted against triggering an extension in the 31-year-old's deal midway through this season.
While his next move has not been confirmed at the time of writing, the club have said: "Everybody at United thanks Rapha for his service and wishes him well for the future. "
Raphael Varane has confirmed he will leave Manchester United this summer.
We'll have more on the French defender's departure imminently.
Real Madrid legends Toni Kroos and Luka Modric are expected to leave at the end of the season, according to Cadena SER (via Goal).
Kroos has been at the Bernabeu for the last decade, with Modric spending 12 seasons in the Spanish capital.
While there's still chance one of the veteran midfielders stays – and fans are reported to be especially keen on Modric sticking around – both are considered more likely to depart.
One of the candidates for Fenerbahce's presidency claims he has held talks with Jose Mourinho over a potential managerial appointment.
"I met Jose Mourinho face to face last week. I told him: 'Fenerbahce needs you and you need Fenerbahce.'" candidate Aziz Yildirim told reporters (via Goal).
"He listened to me sincerely. My friends are talking to his agents. If we win, I will bring Jose Mourinho."
Albert Gudmundsson is on Tottenham's radar after a breakout Serie A season, according to Sky Sport Italia (via Football Italia).
The former AZ forward helped Genoa bounce back to the top-flight last season, and has 14 goals in 33 league outings this term – the fourth-most of anyone in Italy's top-flight.
Spurs aren't the only interested party, though. Juventus and Inter Milan are also said to be keen on the Iceland international, who scored a hat-trick for his country in a Euro 2024 play-off game against Israel in March.
Chris Rigg is on the radar of Manchester United after an impressive start to life at Sunderland.
The Black Cats' resolve will be tested with a summer bid, according to the Northern Echo, though Sunderland are hoping to get Rigg to agree professional terms on Wearside after he turns 17 in June.
Rigg, who made his senior debut last season at the age of 15, scored his first Championship goal in a victory over Southampton back in September.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool could all face battles to stay within Financial Fair Play rules, according to football finance expert Rob WIlson.
"Chelsea are the biggest red flag in the division without question. In the last set of calculations, they will need to sell upwards of £125 million worth of talent by June 30 in order to comply with the regulations this summer,” Wilson told OLBG.
“Chelsea are out in front as the biggest red flags, and then you start coming down into a group of other teams. In that group are Manchester United, Aston Villa with Newcastle and Liverpool creeping in there."
Jesse Marsch is set to take over as Canada manager in time for this summer's Copa America.
The former Leeds United and RB Leipzig manager will take charge for the summer campaign, where his team are due to face Argentina, Chile and Peru in the group stage.
Canada are among the host nations for the 2026 World Cup, and Marsch has pledged that his side will "play with power and inspiration".
If Trent Alexander-Arnold decides to leave Liverpool this summer, Real Madrid want to be in the mix.
That's according to reports in Spain (via Football Espana), with questions over Madrid's current right-back options.
Lucas Vazquez and Dani Carvajal are both out of contract this summer, and while both could yet sign extensions, neither is expected to agree a long-term stay.
Alexander-Arnold's Liverpool deal expires in 2025, so the Reds might opt to cash in if he doesn't agree an extension of his own, but this is one that it could be worth keeping an eye on as the summer rolls on.
