Naija News reports that Portable was arraigned on Monday morning, April 3, 2023, for assault.
Recall the ‘Zazoo Zeh’ crooner was arrested on Friday after the expiration of the 72-hour ultimatum given to him by the police to turn himself in.
The singer will face not less than six charges in court over his inciting comments against the police and his unruly behavior.
The Police Force’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi made this known via a series of tweets on Saturday, April 1, less than 24 hours after Portable was arrested in Ogun state.
Portable’s ordeal with the police started last week after making an Instagram Live video in which he claimed that police had attacked his bar in Sango Ota at the request of an online scammer.
The musician was invited to the Ogun State Police Command’s headquarters after the video, which has since gone viral and generated some internet controversy. Portable, however, chose not to appear.
The police PRO said, “I am sure u are very awake as I have addressed MCs case, but portable has more than 6 count charges to attend to, apart from resisting arrest and injuring a policeman.
“He will be charged to court for beating up a guy in Otta, who filed a petition to CP Ogun.
“There are many pending cases of assaults on people and attacks, and he will be investigated because people have complained against him.
