Handset maker Honor is set to make a comeback and launch smartphones in India. The company made the announcement on X, formerly Twitter, from its handle @honortechindia. The company withdrew its operations from India back in 2020 after it got separated from Chinese tech behemoth Huawei. Huawei had sold the brand in November 2020 to Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co. Ltd. Honor Tech India has confirmed it is re-entering the India market and that it would launch its first smartphone in the country soon. Honor’s first smartphone in India may be the Honor 90.

Handset maker OnePlus has showcased a new technology on its home turf China. The new technology is called “Rain Water Touch” which is likely to solve the touch input issues that users face while using the phone’s screen when it is wet. According to the company’s video test, high-end devices like the iPhone 14 Pro are seen struggling with touch accuracy issues due to wet displays.

The tech giant’s collaboration with Foxconn Technology Group marks a significant step forward in its efforts to balance its manufacturing operations between the two countries. As per the report, sources reveal that the production facility operated by Foxconn in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, is gearing up to start dispatching the latest iPhone 15 units shortly after their initial rollout from Chinese factories.

After iPhone models, Apple is set to begin assembling AirPods in India. The tech giant manufactures non-Pro iPhones in the country and it is now set to assemble AirPods locally, says a report by news agency PTI. Made-in-India true wireless earbuds AirPods Pro would likely go on sale soon. The tech giant is looking to manufacture the buds at the Foxconn facility in Hyderabad by December 2024, the report added, citing sources. The Cupertino-based tech giant currently manufactures non-pro iPhone models locally along with contract partners Foxconn, Wistron and Pegatron.
