Crystal Palace vs Arsenal LIVE!
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard’s penalty secured a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League at Selhurst Park on Monday after the visitors finished with 10 men following Takehiro Tomiyasu’s sending off for two yellow cards.
The Gunners dominated possession in the first half but it took until the 53rd minute for them to take the lead after Eddie Nketiah was upended in the box by goalkeeper Sam Johnstone and Odegaard slotted home the resulting spot kick.
Arsenal looked set to cruise to victory but Palace were thrown a lifeline when two bookings in eight second-half minutes saw Tomiyasu sent off, forcing Mikel Arteta’s side onto the back foot for much of the rest of the game.
Arteta made a number of defensive substitutions to ensure that his side hung on for a win that lifted them to third in the table on six points, behind leaders Brighton and champions Manchester City on goal difference.

Declan Rice says ten-man Arsenal underlined their title credentials in Monday night’s hard-fought 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.
“When you’re on that pitch and you look up at the clock and you’ve got 20 minutes to go against this young and athletic Crystal Palace side, you know it’s going to be tough,” Rice told Sky Sports afterwards.
“But these are the places you’ve got to come if you want to win Premier Leagues and be up there at the end of the season. These are the places you’ve got to come to show character, and grind out the three points. I thought we thoroughly deserved it in the end.”

Crystal Palace weren’t bad tonight but they didn’t manage to lay much of a glove on Arsenal between the middle of the first half and the red card.
This is just about the time performances matter more than results but, with the steel they showed late on, Arsenal just about got both tonight.
