PRIME Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the sprawling campus of the new Parliament of India laden with futuristic technology on May 28. The modern political structure packs advanced technologies that range from digital screens to AI-based translation.

In the new Parliament, a member can hear and read the proceedings in different languages through digital translation. According to Business Today, the Digital Sansad app can transcribe the proceedings of the House in real time through AI.
It will be a paperless platform to ensure communication between MPs, government officials, citizens and other stakeholders. It will also use AI, according to HT Tech. The complex will have tablets and computers for lawmakers to leverage workflow.

Every MP will have a personalised dashboard to monitor their schedule, e-notices, payments and more. Moreover, the app also packs a Constituency Connect feature to connect citizens with their representatives.
While not many details are out, a media report claims MPs could control volume to ensure their words reach throughout the chamber through these programmable mics.
In the video uploaded on the official YouTube channel of the PM, paperless operations inside the Parliament is stressed. This hints at a shift towards soft copies for day-to-day operations.

These Wi-Fi-connected tablets would facilitate real-time inputs on the screen for MPs. It will add to the paperless push in the new structure.
The new building also boasts biometric authentication. Further, The Print claims Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha are bundled with digital systems for ease of voting.
To telecast the voting results and stream the proceedings, multimedia display units have been installed inside the Smart Bhavan.

Meanwhile, moving to other details, the new complex has 1272 seats with a bifurcation of 888 in Lok Sabha and 384 in Rajya Sabha. It expands over an area of 64,500 square meters.
